I’ve been lucky enough to see a good chunk of the world. Most trips have been self-directed and low-key—often with a group of friends—staying in hostels or cheap hotels, getting around by local transit, or renting a motorbike and seeing where the day leads. It’s exposed me to many different cultures, while reinforcing something simpler: how much we share in common, no matter where you go.
